The falls are part of the middle branch of the Ontonagon River and are a beautiful series of cascades that drop roughly 50 feet. Parking, vault toilets and picnic tables are available.

Bond Falls

This spectacular waterfall flows over ancient fractured volcanic rock, and pools at the bottom. There is access to dip your feet in, on a hot summer day.

A 600 foot boardwalk leads to 6 viewing platforms where you can snap some awesome photos of these beautiful falls. Additional hiking trails are available as well as a set of stairs on the east side of the falls that climbs up along the falls for a short distance. If visiting during the winter months please use extreme caution as these steps may be very icy.

Bond Falls

The falls are name after Oliver S. Bond who once owned the property. Upper Peninsula Power company owns the  hydroelectric dam that regulates the falls. The flowage above the dam is a popular spot for trout fishing.

For those of you who like spooky places the famous Paulding Light is not too far from Bond Falls. Pauling Light is located 4.5 miles north of Watersmeet, MI on US 45. As nightfalls you can search for the mysterious light. Legend states that the light is the ghost of a railroad brakeman who died tragically. Casper the friendly ghost holds a lantern on the sign that marks the spot.
