REI BIG HAUL 40L DUFFEL GEAR REVIEW

I recently purchased the REI CO-OP 40 L Duffel Bag to take as we Adventure On. This bag has handles that allow you to carry it as a duffel bag, an airplane carry on, or as a backpack.

Sturdy carrying handles are removable to allow you to wear as a backpack.

Backpack straps slide into a pocket on the duffel bag when not in use.

Two mesh zipped pockets on the inside of the lid allows you to organize smaller items and has a key clip. A front exterior pocket is great for easy access to frequently used items and has a place for identification.

The bag is made of rugged ripstop nylon and has a daisy chain strap, where you can clip additional equipment.

This is the zipped bag in which the duffle bag was packaged. As I am pretty sure I will never get the duffle back in this bag, I use it for my toiletries instead.

The Big Haul Bag is available in 4 sizes:
40L      21.3x13.4x10.2 inches     2 lbs 1 oz            Approx. Cost $90
60L      25.6x13.8x11 inches        2 lbs  4 oz           Approx. Cost $109
90L      29x15.4x13.4                   3 lbs 1 oz            Approx. Cost $129
120 L   30x17x15.75                    3 lbs 10oz            Approx. Cost $149

Pros

1. Perfect size for a carry on. Easily fits under the seat in front of you or in overhead bin.
2. Very versatile with different carrying configurations.
3. Material holds up to abuse.
4. Places for me to clip my water bottle, eye glass cleaning pouch, hand sanitizer and all the carabiners I want. #myunhealthyaddiction
5. If you stand it up sideways, it is the perfect height for you to rest your feet on in the airport.
6. Quality built.

Cons

1. Cost, but the quality is worth it. This bag is made to last.
